The 2nd China (Xiamen) International Construction Machinery & Building Material Machinery Exhibition (abbr. XICME), co-sponsored by Fujian Province Economic & Trade Commission, Fujian Provincial Department of Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation, Fujian Provincial Department of Housing & Urban-Rural Development, Fujian Communications Department, Xiamen Municipal Government and Fujian Province Federation of Industry and Commerce, will be held on Apr. 08-11, 2010 in Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center, at the same time as the 14th China Xiamen Machinery and Electronics Exhibition.

With the announcement of “Several Opinions Concerning Support for the More Rapid Establishment of the Economic Zone on the Western Coast of the Taiwan Straits by Fujian Province” by China State Council, the rise of the Economic Zone on the Western Coast of the Taiwan Straits, as a new engine of China’s economic growth, will certainly promote extensive infrastructure construction of railroads, highways, and sea ports, and stimulate industrial zone expansion, urbanization and livelihood construction in the 20 major cities in the Economic Zone on the Western Coast of the Taiwan Straits (EZWCTS). These large-scale investments and constructions will surely bring large and important markets that XICME may provides services for. Meanwhile, with regional economic integration and the establishment of ASEAN Free Trade Area, Southeast Asia will greatly promote the upgrade and restructuring of infrastructure facilities, as well as city construction in exceptionally large scale, which will bring brisk market for construction machinery products. And for Chinese construction machinery products, which are well-known for their advantage of cost performance, there are new development opportunities.

After over forty years of development, the construction machinery industry of Fujian Province has begun to possess its own comparative advantage: XGMA Machinery, Lonking Machinery and Jingong Machinery together yield one third of China’s, and one fourth of the world total production of loaders, which makes Fujian China’s, even the world’s largest loader manufacture base. Fujian Highway Machinery is among China’s top 3 largest highway machinery manufacturers and yields half of the asphalt mixers produced in China. The hydrostatic transmission technology of Linde-Xiamen Forklift is most advanced in the world, and its products of the “Four Wheels and One Track” have ready markets in Southeast Asia, South Africa and Europe, with 60% domestic and 20% international market share. There are over 100 manufacturers of environment-friendly brick-making machinery in Fujian, who yield half of China’s total production of its kind. Quanzhou has become one of the largest manufacture bases of environment-friendly brick-making machinery in China.

In order to achieve the goal of expanding Southeast Asian market, the Organizing Committee will invite famous agencies and organizations in ASEAN countries such as Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Vietnam Association of Construction Contractors (VACC) to be the international supporters who will organize professional buyers to visit the exhibition.

To enhance the publicity and influence of XICME, the Organizing Committee will advertise the exhibition on a number of professional websites, magazines, radios, as well as on highway billboards in an all-round way. As the strategic cooperative media of XICME, Huicong Construction Machinery Network will comprehensively report the exhibition through print media as well as web media. And they also plan to advertise and recommend XICME during their “Around China”campaign in December, 2009. The Organizing Committee will also organize task forces to advertise XICME on site at both domestic and overseas construction machinery exhibitions.
Supported by solid industrial base, and thanks to the historical opportunities of the rise of the Economic Zone on the Western Coast of the Taiwan Straits and the great development of Southeast Asia, as well as to the geographic advantage of the beautiful coastal city of Xiamen and its perfect exhibition facilities, XICME will be the best platform of exhibition and trade of construction machinery not only for both sides of the Taiwan Straits but also for Southeast Asia.

Note: Each international standard booth will be allocated a table, three chairs, three sides of walls, a signboard with the company name in both Chinese and English, a 220V socket, two spot lights, a waste basket and carpet. Symposium: Chinese Construction Machinery Products in ASEAN Markets — Opportunities and Challenges: Government representatives, scholars and directors of various organizations and enterprises from China and some ASEAN countries will be invited to discuss the opportunities and markets brought by the great development of both the Economic Zone on the Western Coast of the Taiwan Straits and Southeast Asia for construction machinery industry.
 
II. Explanatory Conferences: During the Exhibition, large-scale construction enterprises and construction machinery users will be invited to hold explanatory conferences on purchase or on important construction bids.
III. Recommendation Conference on New technologies and Products:
During the Exhibition, the attending manufacturers of complete machines, as well as of components, whose exhibits are new technologies and products, will hold conferences on recommendation of their products and services.

INTRODUCTION OF THE 1st XIAMEN  INTERNATIONAL CONSTRUCTION MACHINERY EXHIBITION

On Apr. 8 – 11, 2009, the first Xiamen International Construction Machinery Exhibition (XICME), jointly sponsored by Fujian Province Economic & Trade Commission and the organizing committee of China Xiamen Machinery and Electronics Exhibition, was successfully held at the same time and in the same exhibition centre as the 13th China Xiamen Machinery and Electronics Exhibition. The 1st XICME attracted over a hundred large construction machinery and component manufacturers, including XGMA Machinery, Lonking Machinery, Jingong Machinery, Linde Forklift, Fujian South Highway Machinery, Hyundai Construction Equipment, Hitachi Sumitomo, IHI Corporation and Xiamen Kangbo Machinery. The total area of the exhibition reached 10,000 square meters.
The exhibition received over 3000 business people not only from 23 provinces of China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hunan, Ningxia, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Shandong, Sichuan, Hebei, Jilin, Jiangsu, Liaoning, Yunnan, Guangxi, Heilongjiang, Tianjin, Inner Mongolia, Henan, Shanxi, Chongqin and Fujian, but also from 20 countries and regions, including the United States, Russia, Philippine, Malaysia, India, United Arab Emirates, Sweden, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Fujian Provincial Department of Construction, Provincial Department of Communications, Nanchang Railroad Bureau Office in Fuzhou organized over 70 of their subsidiaries to attend the exhibition. Our support media (e.g. www.cm.hc360.com, www.cpzl.com, etc) and other professional intermediary agencies, including CMEC International Exhibition, elaborately organized purchasing groups of over 300 buyers from 60 cities, both domestic and international, to attend the exhibition. During the exhibition, the exhibitors received 11 overseas orders with the total value amounting to over seven million dollars, and entered into over 30 domestic contracts with the total value amounting to two hundred and fifteen million RMB, as well as 76 intention agreements amounting to three hundred and thirty-two million RMB.
