June 10, 2011 -- This week has seen the first CAWPE - China Aerial Work Exhibition and conference take place in Shanghai.
The event, while modest was a good start for a powered access industry that is still in its infancy. The event was co-organised by manufacturers XCMG, Runshare and Haulotte. Other exhibitors included, IPAF, Oil&Steel, JLG, Skyjack, Manitou, Time International and Yoke.
The exhibition included an adjoining conference with presentations and seminars by exhibitors, IPAF's Raymond Wat, from its office in Singapore, gave a talk in Mandarin about IPAF, the Clunk Click campaign on safety harnesses and other the safety guidance available on the IPAF web site. A copy of Wat's presentation is now available on the IPAF site for Mandarin speakers who missed it. Karina Mireles from the Basel office of IPAF also attended.
The show was supported by: the China Occupational Safety and Health Association, the China Occupational Safety and Health Association of Aerial Work, the China State Administration of Work Safety and the National Labour Protective Equipment Quality Supervision and Inspection Centre.
