Terex Cranes has won an order for 76 flat-top tower cranes from Petroleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA), a state-owned company of South Africa. The company will use most of the cranes for a large housing project that involves building 50,000 houses per year.
The order is split equally between two models - the CTT 161A-6TS and CTT 91-5 TS12 - all manufactured Fontanafredda, Italy, and to be delivered through 2012.
"This is one of the biggest crane orders for Latin America and proves our brand strength and our commitment with Latin America,” says Ivens Encarnação, general manager, Terex Cranes Latin America. “The order with PDVSA puts us in a new league in Latin America and significantly increases the presence of Terex Cranes in the local crane market.”
