On July 30, 2014, a disaster caused by landslide happened at Malin village in Pune district, Maharashtra, India. By the morning of August 4, 2014 local time, over 150 people had been killed and 40 houses had been buried.
Soon after the disaster, over 400 NDRF (short for National Disaster Response Force) soldiers carried out rescue operations, removing the mud with excavators and searching for survivors. "The Prime Minister expressed condolences to the victims and called upon all to help the affected people”, said an Indian government spokesman.
SANY India quickly responded to the disaster relief work and provided an excavator for the rescue work on July 31. Up to now, three SANY excavators and seven operators have been sent out to undertake the rescue work. The rescue work is still ongoing at the moment. (Source: Sany Group)
