UK rental company, Crowland Cranes has purchased its first Liebherr, a 50 tonne LTC 1050-3.1 city-type All Terrain crane.
The three axle LTC 1050-3.1 features a 36 metre six section main boom plus a 13 metre bi-fold swing away extension, with 1.5 metre integrated assembly jib. With a capacity of 25 tonnes, the assembly jib can be rigged with a set of sheaves or a searcher hook, both of which can be easily installed by one person without the need to work at height. The all-wheel steer chassis provides a 6.1 metre turning circle, while the telescopic elevating crane cab can be raised to a height of 7.8 metres for improved visibility.
Crowland has ordered the new crane with Liebherr’s Variobase automatic outrigger set up system. It will be based at its new depot in Norwich - its third location joining existing depots in Peterborough and Bury St Edmunds.
Crowland managing director, Peter Issitt said: “The LTC1050 is an interesting and versatile product, enabling our hire desks to offer our customers something a little different from the norm. We have a developing relationship with Liebherr and so far the experience from quotation to supply has been a very positive one. I look forward to seeing our relationship develop further and hopefully we shall add more Liebherr units in the future.” (Source: Vertikal.net)
