Japanese crane and excavator company Kobelco has announced a further stage of its consolidation programme with the merger of its crane and construction operations in the Middle East into a new company based in Dubai.
The company’s cranes
are currently sold and supported through Kobelco Cranes Middle East, in Sharjah, UAE, while the construction equipment
is handled by an overseas representative office in Bahrain.
Going forward the crane company in Sharjah will be liquidated and activities transferred to the new company in Dubai - Kobelco Construction Machinery
Middle East & Africa. It will handle crane sales and service in the Middle East plus sales and service operations for hydraulic excavators
across the Middle East and Africa.
The new company, 100 percent owned by Kobelco Construction Machinery Japan, will open with 11 employees. The move follows the report we ran earlier this week on the merger of its operations in North America from January.
