Serious business transactions, high-quality trade visitors and more participants than in 2014 marked this year’s Bauma-CONEXPO India exhibition, which took place at the HUDA Ground in Delhi this month, as a huge success.
More than 31,000 participants (5,000 more than in 2014) attended to see 647 exhibitors – of which 57% were international companies from 30 different countries – occupying an area of 150,000m².
The strength of the show was also reflected in the level of interaction. Vipin Sondhi, MD for JCB India, said the exhibition was “a good opportunity for us to showcase the latest in the earthmoving and
construction equipment sector”, adding: “We have had a very positive response from customers.”
Igor Palka, CEO of bC Expo India, a joint venture of Messe München and the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), said that “positive developments in the Indian market were noticeable”, and there were reports of good contacts and machines sold directly at the fair.
He added: “For us as the organiser, this feedback is more than gratifying and confirms that the event is perceived as an important platform by the market.”
Wu Song, MD of
Liugong, said: “The success of the event is a reflection of the overall upturn and positive outlook for the Indian construction market. We also sold several machines at the booth.”
Abhijit Padhye, president of sales at Linnhoff, also said the company sold two plants from the event.
Larson & Toubro India also had an encouraging experience, according to executive VP Arvind Garg, who said the event was an ideal opportunity to launch
Komatsu’s new products and broader offering.
V.G. Shakthi Kumar, MD at Schwing Stetter India, said the event was a great success “despite the demonetisation situation” and that it saw all of the company’s customers coming to visit the booth.
“Demand is there, companies are investing again, and although the situation in India's building construction sector remains somewhat difficult, it was very important to participate in Bauma-CONEXPO India,” said Johann Sailer, CEO of GEDA Dechentreiter.
The next bauma CONEXPO India takes place in Delhi in December 2018.
