Liebherr will unveil a brand new four axle All Terrain crane at Conexpo - the LTM1090-4.2. No details have been released, but the crane was spotted at the docks in Northern Germany, heading for the USA and Conexpo.
The new crane, the first of which has been sold to Philadelphia based Sautter Crane Rental, features the new VarioBallast variable counterweight system and can be configured with 10 or 12 tonne axle weights. The chassis is slightly longer with the front outriggers now positioned between axles one and two, rather than right at the front. A When questioned a Liebherr spokesman said that while the chassis was longer the turning circle is the same at it’s the machine its predecessor.
The company has also confirmed that it will exhibit its new 250 tonne LTM 1250-5.1 450 tonne LTM 1450-8.1 All Terrains. These alongside the new Rough Terrains- the LRT 1090-2.1 and LRT 1100-2.1 and the 500 tonne LR 1500 crawler.
The 90-tonner is designed to handle both 10 and 12 tonnes of axle load. For this purpose, the axles were pulled further forward. Liebherr confirmed on request from Vertikal.net that the undercarrier has become longer, thanks to better steering of the turning radius remains approximately the same.
