Japanese multinational Hitachi has unveiled an excavator with a telescopic arm that can reach depths of up to 21m.
The arm on Hitachi's ZX210LC-6 excavator extends and retracts using a combination of ropes and hydraulic cylinders, allowing it rapidly to shift soil.
ZX210LC-6 is the smallest model in Hitachi's fleet of similar-sized excavators, rendering it a good fit for urban construction jobs where space limitation is an issue.
