From October 21 to 22, the grand final of the 8th LiuGong Global Technical Skills Competition was successfully held in Ayutthaya, Thailand. As the competition’s first-ever final held outside China, the event showcased the exceptional skills and strong teamwork of LiuGong technicians on an international stage, marking another milestone in LiuGong’s global service localization and talent development.
Since its launch in August, the competition has received enthusiastic responses across regions including Indonesia, Latin America, India, etc. Over 300 contestants from more than 20 countries competed fiercely, and finally, 24 top technicians from 11 countries advanced to the global final.
Attendees at the opening ceremony included Mr. Li Yuning, Senior Vice President of LiuGong; Mr. Li Dongchun, Vice President of LiuGong; Mr. Kittichai Pruithithada, Director of LiuGong Thailand; and representatives from Panyapiwat Institute of Management. In his speech, Mr. Li Yuning highlighted that hosting the final in Thailand for the first time is an important achievement in LiuGong’s efforts to deepen its presence in the Asia-Pacific region and to establish the “Thailand Model” for skill development. Since its inception in 2014, the LiuGong Global Technical Skills Competition has become a recognized benchmark event in the industry and a vital platform for enhancing global service capabilities.
The competition adopted a team-based format, featuring 7 technical challenges with real-time scoring. Under the scorching sun, participants demonstrated outstanding skills, precise teamwork, and unyielding perseverance. Beyond a test of technical proficiency, it was also a contest of mindset and endurance. The competition also revealed areas for improvement, providing valuable guidance for future regional training programs.
In the end, the Overseas Special Region team claimed the championship with outstanding skills and excellent teamwork. The Africa and Europe regional teams won the second prize, the Indonesia, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific regional teams took the third prize, while the Middle East & Central Asia and South Asia regional teams received the Successfully Participation.
During the award ceremony, Mr. Li Dongchun emphasized that continuously investing in training and capacity building for global service teams has always been one of LiuGong’s core strategies. He noted that the competition serves as both a learning and motivational platform, encouraging technicians to refine their skills and share knowledge. It also reflects LiuGong’s high service standards and craftsmanship spirit. More than a global contest of skills, the event symbolizes LiuGong’s global operational excellence, localized service strength, and commitment to shared success—setting a new benchmark for the construction machinery industry’s global development.
